Edgemead FC Presents: Barry Hilton

After a long week, all some of us want to do is sit back and chill with friends – and have a laugh to shake off the week’s worries. Well, Edgemead Football Club has arranged just that for you on Friday, 18 August 2017, so make your way down to the Edgemead Community Hall and prepare for an evening filled with nothing but laughter, when the legendary comedian Barry Hilton takes you on a comic journey to remember.

The Edgemead Football Club is raising funds for a borehole for the club to help keep the grass green as the ongoing water crisis in Cape Town continues to be a challenge. Amateur soccer games have had to take a backseat to preserve soccer fields and not cause further damage to the water-deprived ground.  

Barry Hilton is spearheading this effort to raise funds with the entertainment he will provide on the night.

Having been on the comedy circuit for more than 30 years, Hilton knows a thing or two about making people laugh. So grab a few mates and make sure to not miss this funny guy as he graces the Mother City with this presence – go on, get your laugh on!  Hilton has done what not many entertainers can do – steal the hearts of thousands of South Africans over the years with his hysterically funny material. His unique take on life and everything that goes along with it has taken him all over the world and has paved the way for many other South African comedians. We all remember him in the  Savanna Cider TV commercials, playing the bartender with the driest jokes you could imagine. Almost funny how the few words he spoke in those ads turned him into a household name
