Café Extrablatt in Green Point serves a bottomless breakfast brunch every Saturday that’s great for hangover blues or a post-workout refuel. And if you want to linger after brunch, there’s a shisha bar upstairs that streams all the big sports games.

EAT YOUR WAY THROUGH THE BUFFET

If you’re a savoury breakfast person, there’s plenty of meats, cheeses, freshly-made omelettes, and salads.

Or opt for something sweet with pastries and warm waffles (served with cream, toppings, ice cream or Nutella). Breakfast is from 9am to 12pm every Saturday.

The brunch buffet on Sundays makes Café Extrablatt an easy place to visit in the morning with the family – there’s even a kids corner with chalkboards, books and toys.

STAY FOR A SHISHA JOL

If you want to keep the good vibes rolling after breakfast, there’s a shisha lounge on the top floor. Tobacco flavours come in watermelon, mint cream, cherry and more, and are best smoked on the breezy balcony overlooking the bustle of Green Point.

It’s definitely a jol upstairs: The bar has top local DJs playing on weekends and there’s even an old-fashioned cigarette machine.

OR LINGER TO WATCH FOOTBALL

Plus, big sporting events are screened live on both levels of the cafe, with a preference for football. It’s one of the only places in the city where you can watch the Fußball Spiele of the German football league, the Bundesliga.

Café Extrablatt has three-hour happy hours and pizza and burger specials, too.
