You’re something of a lyrical prodigy, right? You know how to represent the flow, or maybe you’re the real B-Boy? Do you think you can make it all the way to the top of the city’s hip-hop scene? The first ever Cape Town Hip-Hop Festival is seeking all relevant acts before midnight on Saturday, 31 October 2015.
If you’re a legit skateboarder, poet, hip-hop artist, custom clothing brand, graffiti artist, B-Boy (single or crew), DJ, freestyle soccer player, battle rapper or anyone with street cred then you need to submit a short biography and any supporting content (like videos and songs) to the festival organisers before the deadline. Be sure to explain what you do, where and when you started, your current location, list of performances and achievements and your ambitions in your bio.
The festival is your means of discovering urban music right from your hood. It is a platform for you to showcase your work and help to develop the Mother City’s hip-hop culture, while attempting to uplift and unite the local community.
Currently still in the planning and recruitment stages, the actual festival is expected to kick off in March 2016. Subscribe to our newsletter for regular updates and information.
So break out your inner poet, don your own clothing label and recruit your crew because this is your chance to prove you have what it takes to cut it on the streets.
ENTRY TO THE 2015 CAPE TOWN HIP-HOP FESTIVAL TALENT SEARCH
Email your brief biography along with photos, recordings and videos of yourself or your crew performing, to capetownhiphopfestival@gmail.com for the judges to review your work and consider your talent.
