Wacky and wonderful Capetonians who refuse to adhere to the rules and love nothing more than a freaky alternative party, you’re in for a treat. Diskotekah is throwing an alternative high fashion bash at Deuce Bar on Saturday, 4 March 2017. The theme for this event is Vogue Afrika, so think haute couture people, because this is going to get fierce.
The Diskotekah jol is a themed bash that merges the world of fashion and art, with the realm of techno music. So grab your funkiest glad-rags and express yourself by dressing up as a high fashion lion, a unique version of the sun, or maybe go totally out of the box and dress up as a turtle in a tuxedo (they live in Africa, and they’re fancy af) – anything goes as this experience is more than just a party.
You can expect to peep a few of the Mother City’s favourite drag artists roaming around the venue, and with out-of-this world décor and talented DJs on decks to keep the good vibes flowing until the early morning. One of the main acts on the night is The Frown. Eve Rakow makes music that is as alternative as humanly possible; a true trailblazer in the local music scene.
