Sharpen your Rastafarian lingo and make your way to the Jammin’ Reggae Fest on Saturday, 11 March 2017. The festival takes place at Hillcrest Quarry with the gates opening at 12pm. The 2017 Jammin Reggae Fest will play host to Cape Town's top reggae bands in a relaxed open air atmosphere.
Running in its third year, Jammin’ Reggae Fest is an annual celebration of reggae music with a Caribbean vibe. The line-up is jam packed with some of the biggest names in the reggae industry; with the inclusion of one of the top international reggae artists, Gentleman, it's going to be the line-up of the century. Other names on the star-studded line-up include The Rudimentals, whose hit ‘We Are One’ is currently trending on 5FM, Trenton & Free Radical, Sons of Selassie and Cape Town-based reggae DJ Triple Crown. Bush Radio’s Bashmouth will be the MC for the event.
The Jammin’ Reggae Fest operates in collaboration with Bridges for Music, a non-profit organisation whose ambassadors are established artists such as Skrillex and Black Coffee, to develop music skills in underprivileged areas of developing countries. 80% of the festival’s proceeds will go toward projects such as building a music school in Langa.
You’ll experience Jamaican cuisine and a great Caribbean party vibe. Enjoy the irie atmosphere with rum cocktails and Jamaican fare at the festival.
Now that you know where it’s going down be sure to get yourself to the Jammin’ Reggae Fest and, in the wonderful words of the late great Bob Marley, get yourself “jammin' till the jam is through”.
