Live sessions with local legends + rocking pizza and cocktail specials

To experience SGT Pepper is to indulge in all of life’s (best) guilty pleasures. To sing along to power ballads, dance like nobody’s watching and kick back on the balcony with an ice cold beer and a Tannie Tandoori pizza.

Every Thursday night (except for First Thursdays), SGT Pepper hosts live music sessions. Pre-game your weekend and watch local musicians shred it on stage. Who knows, you might discover your new favourite band.

HAVE DRINKS ON THE ICONIC BALCONY

A 180-degree view of Long Street and daily specials makes SGT Pepper the place to be to escape the rut of everyday life. The balcony stretches along the restaurant with antique pillars, hanging plants and posters of rock legends like Freddie Mercury and The Beatles all along the walls. 

The cocktail menu is music-inspired. You’ll spot classic rock and roll songs like Man Eater, Cherry Bomb and Mr Mojo Risin’. Selected cocktails are half-price during happy hour from 5pm to 8pm, ending right before the live sessions start.

LISTEN TO LIVE MUSIC EVERY THURSDAY

From electric guitars, drums and bass to timeless anthems and new sounds, SGT Pepper prides itself on hosting both new and well-known musicians. Past acts include legends like Francois van Coke, Aking, Arno Carstens, Black Cat Bones and some solo Cape Town Artists. Although there are rock tributes throughout the space, SGT Pepper has expanded their live music offering, so guests can now listen (and dance) to everything from deep house and techno to Afro grooves and throwbacks. You’ll even hear in-house beats with DJs playing between live sets. There’s a R50 entrance fee and live sessions start at 8pm.

STAY FOR COMFORT FOOD + SPECIALS

The burgers, like the cocktails, are music-inspired – named after music legends like Journey, Green Day and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. There’s also an extensive nibble selection with fiery jalapeno poppers, cheesy nachos and hot wings. 

The real star of the show are the pizzas. Our team couldn’t get enough of the Tannie Tandoori (tandoori chicken, cream cheese, sweet chilli, rocket) and the Little Miss Sunshine (feta, olives, sun-dried tomato, garlic, avo, basil pesto). There’s even a buy-one-get-one-free special on burgers and pizzas every Thursday, so you can save up with a friend.
