It’s probably one of the best accommodation specials we’ve secured for you so far. Not only do you get 50% off for a stay any day from Sunday to Thursday for two people at the Wolfkop Nature Reserve. We’ve also organised that when you book for four people you get it for the price of two. You just have to email them directly with “CapeTownMagazine.com reader special”. Read on to find out about the magical place you’ll be staying in and how to access these discounts.
Wolfkop Nature Reserve is great for a midweek getaway or a weekend away. Image: Wolfkop Nature Reserve
Wolfkop Nature Reserve has such an interesting history. It sits at the foothills of the Cederberg Mountains Wilderness range (UNESCO World Heritage site) in Citrusdal, a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cape Town.
The reserve is set on a sprawling property, offering easy access to hiking trails, incredible wildlife, and plenty of open space to unwind.
There are 10 houses that cascade down the kloof with 180 degree views of the Olifants River. Each of them, ranging from two-bedrooms to five-bedrooms, are 200 metres apart, ensuring total privacy.

Plush Moroccan carpets, brown leather couches and indoor fireplaces make the cottages cosy.
Every house has an open-plan living area, en-suite, braai, aircon and DSTV. Huge sliding doors open onto a veranda that leads to the splash pool and wood-fired hot tub.
A strict no dogs policy means there’s a real sense of serenity on the grounds. Waking up to the sounds of birds or watching the best sunsets in the Cape on your private deck - this is the kind of stay that resets your soul.

There’s so much to do at Wolfkop. One of the highlights is the vast network of hiking trails (3km and 10km routes) which ascend into the highlands and lead to caves, rivers and breathtaking waterfalls.
Another treat is the river that flows gently through the Citrusdal Valley and runs along Wolfkop Camping Villages. It’s a 15-minute drive from the houses and you can rent floaties or kayak down the crisp cola-coloured Olifants River. There’s horseback riding and bodyboarding tours too, off-site.
Wolfkop Nature Reserve is also a great base to explore Citrusdal, whether you want to go ziplining at Piekenierskloof, tea tasting on Carmien Bergendal Rooibos Farm or shop for clothes and handmade jewellery at the quirky Sandveldhuisie.
You can see an abundance of various rock formations and San rock drawings on the hiking trails. Image: Wolfkop Nature Reserve
Right now, Wolfkop Nature Reserve is offering 50% off accommodation rates for stays from Sunday to Thursday for two people and for four people. To make a reservation, visit Wolfkop Nature Reserve’s website.
On top of that, we’ve secured a reader special for you: when you book a two-bedroom cottage for two people, two additional guests can stay for free. That means splash pools, hot tubs, cabin sunsets, and more for ONLY R950 for four people, per night.
To book this reader special email Lizette at info@wolfkopnaturereserve.co.za or call her on 083 260 5071 and say (in your subject line or call) “CapeTownMagazine.com reader special”.
The offers are valid for weekday stays until 31 May 2025. Not available during peak times (13 December 2024 - 1 January 2025) and long weekends.
