The much loved annual SA Lingerie Fashion Show will return to the Mother City to raise awareness and support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Taking place in the Centre Court at Canal Walk on Thursday, 1 October 2015, this giant on the fashion calendar invites women and men to see the latest trends in sexy underwear for the summer.
The theme this year is “Warrior Women”, which aims to prove that the world is a runway for all women who believe in themselves, and that every woman should feel beautiful in her own right. “In every woman there is an inner goddess with the strength of a warrior,” says Marketing Manager of Canal Walk Shopping Centre Vanessa Herbst.
“Recognising that breast cancer affects a significant amount of women, and increasingly men, and by association, their families, we wanted to position this year’s show as an empowering event to acknowledge the intrinsic strength of spirit required by all who face this disease,” Herbst says.
The models at this year’s show will be wearing delicate and sexy lingerie from the latest collections, showcasing the spring/summer trends and African flavour within the undergarments. Although the seating around the runway is reserved by invite only, there are plenty of spots to watch the show around the mall. Whether you are an aspiring fashion designer or model or simply want to support a great cause, this event is bound to be a highlight of your month. If you’d like to see a preview of what to expect at the show, then grab a copy of the Cosmopolitan or Marie Claire magazine which comes with a free issue of the SA Lingerie Magazine.
Canal Walk has incorporated the Pink Drive initiative into the event, allowing you to purchase a care pack for someone deserving for R100 each. The packs include a range of goodies, from basic food items to feminine personal care products. These packs will be given to underprivileged women in the Western Cape who are undergoing breast cancer treatment, and can be purchased before the fashion show starts, or online via Pinkdrive.co.za.
TICKETS TO THE 2015 SA LINGERIE FASHION SHOW AT CANAL WALK
Seating at the actual event is reserved on an invite only basis, but the general public can still attend the event and watch from the surrounding bars and balconies at the shopping centre for free. Remember to bring an extra R100 or more to buy the Pink Drive care packs and support breast cancer patients around the province.
