We’ve rounded up amazing ways to make Father’s Day extra special this year. There’s a comedy festival, spa & stay special in a 1920s manor, superhero escape room, museum with over 200 classic motorbikes, and you can even paint your own beer mug. TRY ONE OF THE BEST COFFEE’S IN CAPE TOWN?

This coffee shop has won five “Best Coffee in Cape Town” awards, partly thanks to its special Isabella blend. Isabella is named after the founder’s daughter, who was born the week her dad released his coffee blend to the South African market. It’s 100% Arabica coffee with a dark chocolate and roasted hazelnut aftertaste. You can taste it at mischu in Sea Point.

SEE THIS SPA & STAY SPECIAL

This charming 1920s manor house recently opened and it has fantastic specials. If you book an overnight stay in a garden suite, dad gets a free 90-minute rose quartz back massage, crystal hydrating express facial, and sauna experience. Plus, there’s a fine dining restaurant with a changing menu at Palm House Boutique Hotel.

SHOOT CLAY PIGEONS WITH DAD

You and dad can feel just like John Wick and The Terminator at this two-hour experience where you shoot clay pigeons using real bullets. The shooting is done outdoors on a shaded deck, with the clay pigeons hung up across various distances. You don’t need any prior experience to enjoy Clay Pigeon Adventures.

PLAY SUPERHERO FOR 75 MINUTES

PAINT A BEER MUG

The Clay Café is celebrating Father’s Day by giving out free beer all weekend. From 14 to 16 June, all dads get a free beer when they paint a beer mug or tiki mug. Plus, if you buy two Stella draughts, you’ll get a chalice glass for free.

SEE OVER 200 CLASSIC MOTORCYCLES

There are more than 200 state-of-the-art modern classic motorbikes on display (ranging from the early 1910s to 1974) at the Helderberg Motorcycle Museum. There’s also a collection of paraphernalia like petrol tanks, vintage signs, and pumps that celebrate motorcycling through the ages. Plus, you can dine at the restaurant on site after the tour.

ROCK OUT TO THE BEATLES

Watch a The Beatles tribute show centred around a selection of some of their most beloved songs. Featuring Duck Chowles, Andy Murray and The Retro Rewind Band, the show includes classics like "She Loves You" and "A Hard Day's Night" to iconic Simon & Garfunkel compositions such as "Homeward Bound" and "Mrs. Robinson."

TREAT DAD TO A FATHER’S DAY FEAST

GO TO THE JIVE FUNNY FESTIVAL

South Africa’s favourite, oldest, and largest comedy festival. The Jive Cape Town Funny Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and has popular comedic acts lined up like Alan Committie, Dalin Oliver, Yaaseen Barnes, Emo & Loukmaan Adams, and many more.

BUILD YOUR OWN CHOCOLATE BAR

Choco-o-lattes, flash nitrogen ice cream, and build-a-bar experiences. This is what you’ll find at the colourful chocolate store on Buitenkant Street. They’ve got “bon bombs” in flavours like pomegranate molasses in a purple pyramid and pop butter in a tiny pink croissant (filled with a surprise).
