Winter Glow Restaurant Edition at Shimmy Beach Club

Get ready to shine this cold season with this series of preeminent music and foodie nights at the Mother City’s favourite beach haunt

Get ready to shimmy and shake this winter whilst dining on hearty, comfort food. Voted as Cape Town’s best club by Zomato, Shimmy is an on-going favourite with the city’s cool crowd and it’s easy to see why. The club is constantly innovating and its latest offering is testament to this; the Winter Glow series features a selection of top-class DJs who will light up the restaurant and club on Fridays and Saturdays for the next few months (with the exception of July). The Ciroc-sponsored Restaurant Edition (every Friday) promises a relaxed ambiance and plenty of melodic tunes to enhance diners’ dinner experiences.

 Those who choose to partake in the Winter Glow Restaurant Edition will have the opportunity to experience the new winter menu expertly crafted by Chef Adrian Cook, which features a smorgasbord of foodie delights, from grilled tiger prawns to Gruyere and leak tart with pomegranate reduction, and lamb shank pot with candied butternut. Expect strong Mediterranean and Italian flavours complemented by a Cape Town twist. Alternatively, opt for the Bisquit Set Menu and sample three delectable cognac-inspired courses, including tiger prawn & Bisquit bisque and Bisquit encrusted black pepper fillet.

While tucking in, guests will be serenaded by different DJs every week who’ll match the mood of the restaurant with a symphony of background sound. This week (Friday, 26 June 2015), DJ Sox, one of Shimmy’s resident DJs, will hit the deck with an array of tunes suited to drinks, dinner and dancing. After dinner, guests are welcome to move onto the Club Edition part of the evening, which has an awesome line-up of music makers to get the night going – look out for EDM guru Minx, the legendary Branny B and Deztract. Shimmy will close from Wednesday, 1 July until Thursday, 30 July, so best you book now otherwise you’ll have to wait until Friday, 31 July 2015, when the Winter Glow Editions get going again.
