We think it’s time to get your charitable hat on and head out to Melkbosstrand for this trail run with a cause. On Saturday, 19 August 2017, Fallen Angels Pet Rescue are hosting this active event that is suitable for the whole family!
All the proceeds from the Fast and Flat Farm Run will go to Fallen Angels and will help them take care of their very deserving charges. The event has two course options; one 5km fun run, or a 15km farm run. The route will take you through canola fields, across a river (a mostly dry river, but still), through the farm and up a few hills for good measure.
Look forward to a lucky draw, various stalls that will help you refuel and kiddies entertainment to enjoy. Having fun and raising money is really the name of the game at this event, with the added bonus of some cardio with stunning views!
Both of the course options will start and finish at the Vaatjie Kleine Zoute Farm, which is located 18km outside of Melkbosstrand along the old Darling Road. The 15km Farm run will start at 8am and the 5km Fun Run will kick off at 8:15am. Be there early to get your race number!
Fallen Angels Pet Rescue, located in Melkbosstrand, aims to give a home to all animals in need. They also strive to rehabilitate abused and neglected animals, which will hopefully end in these deserving creature finding a new and loving home. As is the case with most animal rescue centres, they are always running at a high capacity, and any help, financial or otherwise, that you can offer would mean the world to them. They always appreciate donations of food, toys, leads, blankets and any other pet related products.
