Enjoy a fun-filled day with the kids at Cape Town Company’s Garden, on Saturday 18 November 2017. EMBRACE, a social justice initiative with an ambition to cut societal divides, is hosting another edition of Kids At The Centre. Each year they are getting bigger and better. This time RX Radio, the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Radio Station, has joined the team.
RX Radio is a radio station for children and hosted by children – who else is better to broadcast the day's festivities but them? The afternoon at the Company Gardens will be filled with treasure hunts, LegoLand, face painting, reading corners, marimbas, gumboot dancing, acrobats and some dancing.
Julie Mentor, the Project Manager at EMBRACE says an event like this only works when the whole city is involved. “We are extremely grateful to be partnering with so many wonderful organisations this year. We have the Western Cape Department of Health, The Clothing Bank, Nal’ibali and Iziko Museums on board together with many more.”
Another partner in this venture, HCI Foundation, has agreed to sponsor a fleet of Golden Arrow busses to transport families located in Khayelitsha, Phillipi and Heideveld. Their efforts are to ensure that the family fun day reaches everyone across the city.
