Father of four Marshall Nelson makes over 100 visors per day for his community.
Marshall Nelson runs and manages the initiative Youth Media Movement which teaches people with disabilities how to build 3D printers. With his business temporarily on hold, Marshall and his four children have found a new purpose for their printers: printing and distributing free protective face masks for their community in Mitchell's Plain.
A SMALL FAMILY BUSINESS
Marshall, his two daughters and his two sons can print up to 20 protective visors per machine every 24 hours. With nine 3D printers at home, the family is reaching over 170 people per day, and Marshall and his family have given away over 500 protective visors so far.

CALLING FOR WIDER SUPPORT
The Nelson family has gained the support of the wider community and receives donated A4 laminated sheets and filament pieces to carry on their work. But, as many people do not have enough money for food or basic necessities, Marshall encourages local businesses and organisations to step up and join him in supporting his local community during this pandemic.
