There’s really nothing little about the Littlegig festival, which is why the event – happening on Wiesenhof farm in Stellenbosch on Saturday, 17 and Sunday, 18 February 2018 – is already sold out.
To find tickets, try their reseller programme Ticketpony, it connects you with people that need to buy or sell their tickets and/or tents.
Now in its third year, Littlegig is a 24-hour celebration of music, food, wine, art, design and much more. Some 1500 people will gather for this epic event, where all food, drink and entertainment is included in the price of the ticket.
Look forward to experiencing the work and creativity of 35 musicians and 18 DJs across six stages, 17 designers, 10 bars, six chefs, three winemakers and one concept store for 24 uninterrupted hours.
There are four new additions to the festival:
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2018 LITTLEGIG FESTIVAL
FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD
Since the price of your festival ticket includes all food and drinks, there’s no reason to not try absolutely everything.
There will a string of pop-up bars dotted around the festival grounds, and organisers have assured us that there will be no queuing, which is a great bonus. On the drinks menu, there is Absolut Vodka, Beefeater Gin, Krone Brut Rose, Olmeca Altos Tequila and Woolworths cold-pressed juices to look forward to, as well as a water station by Woolworths.
Complementing the drinks is lamb riblets, giant Vietnamese crystal rolls, wild mushroom kebabs, butter chicken and more. For the uber-foodies, there are two additional food experiences that you don’t want to miss (they come at an additional cost). The one is a bespoke food-and-wine pairing with six of the country’s top female chefs and winemakers (Ash Heeger, Nadia Newton Johnson, Jenny Ward, Nadia Barnard, Vanie Padayachee and Jocelyn Wilson). The second unmissable culinary event is the six-course chef’s table. This dinner for 50 is curated by chef Arno Janse van Rensburg.
MOVE TO THE BEAT
The music at Littlegig is about so much more than headline acts. It's about offering the stage to a diverse selection of musicians on the six stages, including live bands in the middle of the forest and a night stage on a basketball court. Performers include:
WHAT THE… ART, DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE
Each area at Littlegig is designed by a top stylist, under the creative direction of Bielle Bellingham. One of the design highlights is sure to be the six-metre metallic inflatable artwork for the island, designed by architect and artist duo Sean and Justine Mahoney.
And it gets better still, as dance, performance, comedy and magic will be debuting at Littlegig this year.
FASHION FORWARD
The Fashion Concept store is the only place where you will actually be spending money. Designers whose pieces you’ll find in this pop-up shop include:
What’s more, just opposite the fashion store is the FREE festival hair and make-up salon.
TICKETS TO THE 2018 LITTLEGIG FESTIVAL
Tickets are sold out for this year’s event, but there's a reseller's programme where, Ticketpony, you could find a ticket. These do not include camping, this has to be bought separately quicket.co.za.
DIRECTIONS TO THE 2018 LITTLEGIG FESTIVAL
Take the N1 towards Paarl. Take exit 47 which takes you the R44. At the stop street turn right onto the R44 towards Stellenbosch. At the first robot (there is a BP garage on the right) continue going straight for about 3.5km until you reach Wiesenhof on your left.
