Chris Chameleon releases Kyk Hoe Lyk Ons Nou
New solo album from Chris Chameleon is fresh and progressive
Chris Chameleon’s new Afrikaans solo album “Kyk hoe lyk ons Nou” has been released. The title of the album is also the name of a new television series of four episodes that will be broadcasted on kykNET in 2009.
Chris Chameleon was approached by kykNET to be the presenter of a documentary series “Kyk hoe lyk ons nou…”. In the series Chris and the camera team travels through South Africa to learn about the Afrikaans community's way of thinking, doing and communicating.
The producer of the series also asked Chris to write a theme song for “Kyk hoe lyk ons nou...” Chris returned from the trip with so much inspiration and ideas for new songs, that a whole new album was created.
Chris Chameleon’s impressions also expanded beyond the context of the television series with the result that his new songs are also layered with his personal observations.
Chris allowed himself more time in studio with the recording of “Kyk Hoe Lyk Ons Nou” than with his previous solo albums. Chris and producer Theo Crous worked together in creating a fresh, progressive sound.
Whereas Chris’ previous Afrikaans albums formed a close continuity, the new album offers a richer, fuller sound without compromising the distinctive intimacy of Chris`s music.
