30+ hours of storage, no camera blur & pro features
Last updated: Tuesday, 9 April 2024
The best companion in content creation is your smartphone, and your phone has to have the best camera. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 13 series has over 30 hours of video storage, eliminates camera blur, and delivers professional photography features. And it comes at a midrange price. See why this phone series, which launches 10 April 2024, is ideal for content creators and photography enthusiasts.

The Redmi Note 13 series (which comes in three models; the standard, Pro, and Pro+ 5G) is a midrange smartphone with camera performance that competes with big-level brands like Samsung.
The Redmi Note 13 features a triple camera and has 108MP for its main camera. Stepping into professional photography territory, both the Pro and Pro+ 5G models feature an ultra-clear 200MP main camera (Samsung’s S23 only has 50MP).
The phones also come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and 2X/4X zoom. This means images and videos are clear and crisp when zooming in, or in poor conditions like low light. These features also eliminate blur caused by camera shake or wind.
This allows users to capture high-action scenes or detailed portraits without ever moving. You can zoom in on artists performing or footballers playing on a field from the stands, or capture everyday scenes like vlogging and filming podcasts.
Both smartphones also come with a wide selection of film camera filters for users to customise their photos. Image: Xiaomi
You can capture as many pictures and as much video as you like, as the phones have 12GB of RAM (the iPhone 15 Pro Max has 8GB). This is great for multitasking and running intensive apps like photo and video editing software.
Plus, there’s an additional 512GB of storage (this is 8 500 photos of 60MB, or just over 30 hours of 1080p video footage).
Want to watch your content back? Each model features an AMOLED screen display. This outperforms conventional LED models in terms of energy efficiency, colour, and sharp contrasts.

All three models also have a long battery life, thanks to the large 5 000 MAh battery (the iPhone 13 only has 3 240 MAh) and a fast-charging processor. The Pro can be charged to 100 percent in just 25 minutes while the Pro+ 5G does the same in 19 minutes.
There’s also four colours to choose from. The standard Redmi Note 13 in midnight black or ice blue. The two pro models, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G, come in black, and forest green and moonlight white, respectively.
All chargers are included in the box with the smartphone. Image: Xiaomi
The series launches on 10 April 2024. Over 36 months, you can get the Redmi Note 13 for R329 per month, the Redmi Note 13 Pro for R429 or the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ for R699 via Vodacom.
For an extra R9 per month, you can add on any of Xiaomi’s smart devices. There are options like robot vacuums, smart fans and even smart air fryers. All of these can be controlled with a Redmi Note 13 or with your voice.
