Bonnie Tyler Concerts in South Africa
Welsh power balladress to play live in Johannesburg and Cape Town
The legend responsible for dethroning Michael Jackson’s royal hit ‘Billie Jean’ from the top of the UK charts in 1983, Bonnie Tyler, is confirmed to play four concerts in South Africa: two in Johannesburg at Emperor’s Palace on Thursday, 29 August 2013 and Friday, 30 August 2013 and two at the Cape Town International Conventional Centre (CTICC) on Friday, 6 September and Saturday, 7 September 2013.
The husky-voiced pop-rock diva – she’s also known as the ‘female Rod Stewart’ – will perform her brand of power ballads and irresistible 1970s and 80s classics, like previously alluded to chart-topper ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, for Mzansi audiences, alongside some of her more recent soft-pop and folk tracks.
The gigs mark Bonnie’s return to the South African stage for the first time in 20 years; though, with timeless singles under her name, like ‘Lost in France’, ‘It’s a Heartache’ and ‘Holding out for a Hero’, there’s no doubt that local fans will flock to snap up tickets faster than the speed of light.
