Is enough being done to save our beaches?
Last Updated: 02 December 2016
The Mother City’s beachgoers may have concerns due to sewage outfalls of three Cape beaches. The city is still at work with their application for a discharge permit for outfall pipes in Green Point, Camps Bay and Hout Bay.
Cape Town filmmaker Mark Jackson, fresh from his first feature film, turned his attention to the sewage and effluent problem in Camps Bay. Mark is a regular beachgoer and is keen on environmental conservation. “As someone who studied civil engineering, I know something about how we are supposed to be dealing with effluent and how sea currents work,” Mark added.
This is Mark’s short documentary which highlights the growing sewage and effluent crisis in Camps Bay, and also offers some possible solutions.
