Bloomy Days ranks The Mother City at 18th
Last Update 14 February 2017
Keeping it local is the best way to go this valentine's Day, as the international online florist, Bloomy days, has conducted the annual Valentine's Day Price Index for 2017, and put Cape Town at number 18. Celebrating romance can have a serious impact on your bank account but thanks to Bloomy Days we can understand the costs that goes into these gifts..
The average price spent on Valentine's bouquets were different from city to city, therefore attributing the price range differentiation to location. The investigation looked at how much it would cost to buy a dozen red roses, a day ticket to a spa and a meal and wine for two in a Michelin star standard restaurant or something equivalent, an evening for two to the movies (with snacks) and a night in a luxury hotel.
Our own Mother City ranked 18th with an overall cost of R9000 for all activities mentioned, making it one of the most affordable romantic destinations in the world. Looking at the amount of zero’s on the cost, it could make your heart skip a beat; however accommodation for two people and extravagant activities included, it is reasonable.
Cape Town is ranked as one of the most affordable places to buy a dozen red roses with an average of R300 and the most affordable for two people to watch a movie at the cinema at an average of R140. Looks like Cape Town is making us all fall in love at a lower price than others.
