Chevelle Concerts in South Africa
Platinum-selling alternative American rock trio to play live in Cape Town and Johannesburg
Making good on their promise to reschedule a two-city Mzansi tour that was cancelled in 2011, Yankee hard rockers Chevelle are heading to South Africa to play a pair of concerts in 2013: the trio will perform at GrandWest in Cape Town on Friday, 31 May 2013 and at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City in Johannesburg on Sunday, 2 June 2012.
Around since 1995, the Chicago musos – they’re sound is on par with heavy metal group Tool - have six full-length albums behind them, have toured with the likes of Evanescence and Audioslave and have sold over four million albums in the US. Though mistakenly billed as a Christian rock group, the result of signing with now defunct Christian label Squint Entertainment, the band insists that its music is in no way related to its faith.
Tickets for the South African concerts are available for purchase via Computicket.com, Computicket outlets or the Computicket call centre (+27 (0) 861 915 8000). Ticket prices for both the Johannesburg concert and the Cape Town concert range in cost from R350 to R450.
