Red Bull Cape Town Man 2005: Action & Adrenaline

On 19 November 2005 50 teams from across the world will compete for the title of Red Bull Cape Town Man & a $10.000 prize.

Red Bull Cape Town Man will take the Cape by storm on Saturday 19 November 2005 when 50 teams from all over the world will be competing for the title of Red Bull Cape Town Man and a US$10, 000 prize.

The events combines a wide variety of extreme sports - kite surfing, mountain biking, mountain running and paragliding - and will take contestants over sea, land and air.

The contest will kick off with kite surfing when 50 kite surfers racing a 15km route from Dolphin Beach towards Robben Island and back to Sunset Beach. Then 50 mountain bikers set off on a 30 km route from Sunset Beach to the lower slopes of Table Mountain via the harbour and the historic Cape of Good Hope Castle.

At Deer Park, on the slopes of Table Mountain, the bikers hand over to the runners who will run uphill all the way to the top of Table Mountain. The route covers 12km and climbs over 1000m.

Finally, 50 paragliders will launch off the face of Table Mountain, heading for Signal Hill. As they land they will run to a second launch site on Lion's Head and do a high speed descent to the finish at La Med in Camps Bay.
