The Drifters to Play Six Concerts in South Africa

‘Under the Boardwalk’ hitmakers destined for Mzansi soil

Golden oldie gods, The Drifters, have been confirmed to play live in South Africa in April 2013 as part of their Diamond Dynasty World Tour, a celebration of their 60th anniversary and their continued success.

The long-lived doo-wop sensation – they’re responsible for such classics as ‘Under the Boardwalk, ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’ and ‘On Broadway’ – are scheduled to play six concerts on Mzansi soil: one in Port Elizabeth, one in Oudtshoorn, one in Johannesburg, one in Bloemfontein, one in Pretoria and one in Cape Town.

The Drifters concert dates in South Africa

  • 3 April – Boardwalk Casino, Port Elizabeth
  • 5 April – ABSA KKNK, Oudtshoorn
  • 6 April – Carnival City, Brakpan/Johannesburg
  • 10 April – Sand du Plessis Theatre, Bloemfontein
  • 12 April – Aula Theatre, University of Pretoria
  • 13 April – Good Hope Centre, Cape Town
