Things that are important to event organisers

You need locals, to stay top of mind, and more

Having worked with hundreds of events for over 10 years, we have identified key wins for event organisers and built it into our Events Marketing Programme. Do these resonate with you?

Every month we select about 5 events that we think make the city bigger to join our Events Marketing Programme. Image: Maynardville Open-Air Festival

  1. You need the local market, it’s your core audience. Reach people actively looking for something to do daily in the channels they live in and love.

  2. You need to stay top of mind. To reach people day-in and day out.

  3. You need to get hard-to-reach and expensive to reach internationals? And reach them before they arrive.

  4. You need to grow outside your fan-base to grow. To reach both your in-crowd and out-crowd.

  5. You and your team believe your event can change the city or province. You can. Unique purpose-led businesses make this province richer and should can happen again (and again).

  6. You believe more people should be talking about your unique event. You want to influence the influencers, from journalists to Instagrammers.

  7. You’re always saying, “(more) people JUST need to hear about the event”. You want your event in front of the broadest audience possible.

  8. You need more value than what you pay for. What if you could get up to 5x what you pay for.

  9. You don’t do advertising. We fully agree. It’s about storytelling (in fact story making); not selling.

  10. You want to work with people that can make you better. Who can help you build long-term success that we can build on year on year.
