‘Little Earthquakes’ singer is billed to tour Mzansi to perform four concerts this June!
Eight-time Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, pianist and composer Tori Amos returns to our shores as part of a worldwide tour to promote her latest album Unrepentant Geraldines (2014). Following a series of 2011 sold-out South African shows, the red-headed songstress looks to once again delight fans with two concerts in both the Mother City and Jozi this June.
2014 TORI AMOS CONCERT DATES SOUTH AFRICA
Best known for her 1992 solo debut album, Little Earthquakes, which was met with widespread critical acclaim, Amos has sold over 12 million albums worldwide, has reportedly played over a thousand live shows and was voted by Rolling Stone magazine readers as the fifth best touring act in 2003.
Now, after more than three decades in the music business, the US-born classically trained muso is embarking on a global tour to promote the release of her 14th studio album Unrepentant Geraldines.
Born in North Carolina, Amos started playing piano at the tender age of two, and just three years later, the musical prodigy was already playing her own compositions. Her talent won her a scholarship to the exclusive classical music school The Peabody Institute in Maryland. Though, Amos left the conservatory at the age of 11 to pursue her true passions, the rock and pop genres.
Despite being under age, she started performing in bars and clubs at the young age of 13 (chaperoned by her father). It was these early experiences that shaped her career and paved the way for her to become one of the most respected live acts.
And if the reviews of her 2011 concerts in South Africa are anything to go by, this is one show you don’t want to miss.
