Nu World Eve New Year’s Eve Party

Dance your way into 2015 to the beats of international headliner DJ Thornato at this famed mashed-up musical NYE affair

Looking to make some last minute NYE plans that won’t completely break the bank? Grab a partner and sync your watches for the Time Travellers’ Ball – a truly spectacular night of jigerypokery – at the 2014-2015 Nu World Eve New Year’s Eve party at Vaudeville (otherwise known as Side Show) in Cape Town.

Brought to this era by the brains behind epic parties like Balkanology and Flamjangled Tea Party, Nu World Eve has become one of the Mother City’s most anticipated NYE jols! This time around, revelers and Gallifreyan Time Lords are called on to dabble in all things “timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly” and hop head first into the wormhole for a clock-ticking good time at this New Year’s Eve bash.

The time-travelling hoedown will feature New York-based ‘pan-awesome dance jam’ expert Thornato, who’s billed to lay down the kind of killer cross-cultural folk and Balkan tunes that are guaranteed to lure you to the dance floor and get your booty and even your soul bopping into the night.

Apart from injecting the flux capacitor with 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, the epoch-jumping jol will also feature two dance floors and a number of local music-makers, including the one and only Marty McFly. Party-goers can expect to dance into a new era to world beats and tweaks, afro grooves, nu funk, eastern noodles, deviant disco, acid house, glitch hop and so much more.

As always, patrons are required to dress the part. So, whether you’re from the Mesozoic period, Victorian times, the sector of Observers from 2600 or the flower-child era of the 20th century, make sure that your fellow party-goers can tell when you are from by your attire.

After seriously successful runs in years gone by, the dress-up fiesta brings seasoned veterans of the Cape Town summer scene some matchless fun to ring in the new year, and with its jam-packed line-up of epic tunes, the hours 'til midnight will fly by.

For those who do not own a credit card for online ticket purchases, you can now book your ticket online and pay at any Pick n Pay outlet or purchase pre-printed passes at select outlets (see below).
