Exciting things to do in Brackenfell

Spend a day in Brackenfell and enjoy the wonderful activities the area has to offer, Brackenfell is one of those places people are not keen on visiting since nothing much is ever said about the nice things you can do here. The area might seem quite and dull but there are a lot of fun things you can do here, if you enjoy some physical activities you can visit the Brackenfell Sport Arena or the Lockdown Paintball Park. For those who prefer sitting back and enjoying the moment, you can get some 3D action at Ster Kinekor IMAX or the Bracken Nature Reserve and admire what Mother Nature has to offer.
Besides the wonderful things you can find in the area, Brackenfell is surrounded by amazing places with a lot of things to it is also the gate way to the winelands. If you ever find yourself in Brackenfell here is what you can do. You can access from major roads such as N1, R300, Old Paarl Road and Bottelary Road.
Brackenfell is situated on the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, the area is a gateway to the Cape Winelands. Brackenfell offers schools, sporting facilities, shopping mall and medical services. Bracken Nature Reserve - situated in the Ruwari area was declared a nature reserve, after some negotiations between the City of Cape Town Cape Council and the Stellenbosch Divisional Council. The suburb was established in 1913, Brackenfell was once a major crossing road during the earlier years of Cape Town. Brackenfell and Kuilsrivier use the CF prefix for registered vehicles, the prefix was formerly located for Grahamstown.

Café Latino
The locals love this place and you know almost everyone loves a place with good food and amazing coffee, not forgetting their wonderful service. The waiters are very friendly they will make you feel at home, if you are travelling with your little ones you don’t have to worry because they also have a breakfast section for children too. The wallpaper with the Venice Canals will make you feel like you’re on vacation abroad.
Torrador
In most cases place that make good coffee their food is not always as good as the coffee, well this place will give you the perfect meal to start your day. Both the food and the coffee are amazing, if you are going to explore the area you need a meal that is worth your money. Food and coffee are not the only things that will impress you about this place, the interior has hints of modern punk steam.
When you are done with your breakfast you can start with your activities.
Hostile Paintball
If you are not travelling solo you can have fun at the Hostile Paintball and have some paintball fun. The premises have four different playing fields that caters for children and adults. The fields are also designed in a way that will make the entire experience feel real.
Ster kinekor IMAX
If you prefer being a spectator than getting involved in the action you can skip the physical activities and enjoy some 3D action. IMAX takes viewing film to a complete new level. Featuring a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screen and IMAX's cutting edge projection and sound technology, you truly become part of the movie.
Brackenfell Sports Arena
If you love soccer, cricket or netball bring your friends along and have a wonderful time playing your favourite sports. Sightseeing is not the only thing one can do when visiting an area, you can even have a sport at the venue.
Bracken Nature Reserve
Every once in a while we all need a place surrounded by nature and spectacular views just to collect our minds. Going to such places is the perfect escape from your daily lifestyle, who knows how seeing the beautiful wine land and a view of the table mountain will not inspire you to take care of Mother Nature as much as you can. Such places will remind you of the goodness of life and how wonderful all life forms are. Don’t forget to take pictures!

Food Lovers Market
Located in the Brackenfell Hypermarket Centre, what is nice about this place is that they make then best burgers with hand-made 200g patties. If you feel like having something alcoholic then you will be at the right place, because they also have an open bar.
Bottled Delights
This is a dessert store, if you have a sweet tooth or you have a friend with a sweet tooth you can pop-in here and get them something delightful that will make the want to visit Brackenfell too. You can also build a baking kit with all the ingredients and instructions such as the: Bake and build your own Gingerbread House kit that comes with Biscuit mix, cake plates, house template, sweets, icing and baking paper. If the person you are buying the kit for is a bit far, a courier service can be arranged. Rustic baking can be a problem especially when you are trying to bake something amazing for your family, Bottled Delights will help you do that.
Green Gifts Cape Town
You can show that you care with green gifts and give your loved ones the chance to nourish their own gifts. Taking care of plants can be very relaxing and it is the best way to calm yourself without harming or destroying anything. You can buy Cactus in a pot and you don’t have to worry about the effects it will have on native plants, because alien plants can use up all the water and kill other plants.

If you have clothes and furniture that are in good condition your children no longer use – you can sell them at Mini Me. The store buys and sells second hand goods that are in good quality, you can also get new thing too. The Palms Pub & Grill
This is the perfect to cool down with a glass of beer and relax, they also have live music so you can enjoy your lunch. Then come back again later and have good time, the pub will remind you of a family braai so there will never be a dull moment here.
The Blasters Family Restaurant
Travelling will children can be very nice and what is even nicer is going to an eatery that will allow children to run around, while you enjoy your meal. The indoor area is one of the largest indoor play areas in Cape Town, your little ones can play in a safe and secure play area in restaurant. This restaurant offers parents the opportunity to relax and enjoy their food while their children play in a safe and secure area. One might think a restaurant that accommodates children to this extent might not be the best place for adults. There is something for the adults – live-music and an open bar, so parents can have a great while there children are tucked away in a fun and safe play area.
Planet Sport Arena
Don’t let the name scare you because you will not be doing any physical activities the only physical thing you will be doing is dancing because this is bar, located right next to the Brackenfell Sports Arena. This bar is right next to a garage that sells amazing pies and coffee.
