Support the Cape Town LGBTI+ community at this fundraising market day in Oranjezicht

Enter a raffle, indulge in tasty grub and grab second-hand steals, all in support of Cape Town’s Pride Shelter

Head to Oranjezicht on Saturday, 14 April 2018 for a day of good old market fun, while also supporting and contributing to raising funds for the Pride Shelter Trust.

Tuck into some tasty food, grab a bargain on second-hand clothes and bric-a-brac or stand a chance to win some goodies in a raffle on the day. What’s more, you’ll be helping a shelter that is making a difference to the lives of the Cape Town LGBTI+ community when they are in times of crisis. All proceeds made on the day will go towards funding the Pride Shelter Trust.

The Pride Shelter Trust is a shelter based in Oranjezicht that provides psycho-social support to South African citizens, as well as legally affirmed refugees or asylum-seekers when they hit hard times. They are the only short-term residential facility providing these services and support for LGBTI+ people on the African continent. Over the past six years, they have accommodated over 700 people at the shelter.

If you can’t make it to the market day, you can still help out. Take a look at their website to see how you can donate cash or any supplies that they are in need of, or how to lend a pair of helping hands as a volunteer at the shelter.
