Colourful food, earthy decor, fresh organic produce + more
Last Updated: Tuesday, 12 October 2021
Wholefoods, gluten-free, pasture-raised and superfoods are terms that have become all the rage in recent years, with the movement towards a healthier, more sustainable way of life. While it may seem overwhelming and expensive to live a healthier lifestyle, it’s made heaps easier by one-stop health shops like Wildsprout.
Wildsprout’s goal is to make healthy, conscious-living accessible to all, and it’s the go-to spot for grabbing a smoothie, a healthy breakfast or shopping for fresh produce.

On Kenilworth Main Road, Wildsprout’s cafe is a great spot for a coffee date with a friend, and you can also work there – it offers free WiFi. You’ll be surprised at how far back the cafe stretches – there’s plenty of space to find a quiet table. The interior is decorated in warm, earthy tones of beige, warm yellow, brown and white that reinforce the café’s focus on all things natural, as do the wicker basket-style lampshades and potted plants and flowers inside and outside.

The cafe is fragrant with the scent of freshly brewed lattes and cappuccinos, and has small tables, 2 larger communal tables, as well as window seats that overlook bustling Main Road. The cafe leads out into a courtyard area on one side and the grocery area on the other.

The courtyard is a small but lovely space, with bar stools on a small deck, and 2-seater tables lining the wall. The grocery area leading off from the cafe has a range of goods to choose from, as well as a very tempting display of guilt-free desserts.

Wildsprout has a great selection of healthy foods on offer, a celebration of Mother Nature’s natural foods. Its menu caters for various diets, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free.

Try out a freshly made smoothie, like the Superberry, made with ingredients including blackberries, blueberries, Camu Camu superfood powder, almond milk and chia. For breakfast the smoothie bowls or breakfast wraps are delicious and a Smashed Avo toast, with pickled onion, fresh sprouts, chilli flakes and sesame seeds is divine for breakfast or lunch. If you prefer a sweeter treat, the range of guilt-free desserts – cakes, chocolates and tartlets – are all made on the premises in the bakery.

The grocery area at the back of the cafe is an open-plan space, dedicated to health-food fanatics. It stocks everything from meat, milk alternatives and free-range eggs, to fresh, organic fruit and vegetables in baskets along the wall or in the fridges.

Alongside the grocery area, Wildsprout also sells a range of locally produced products, such as body butters and natural deodorants from The Apothecary, a natural kiddies range from Pure Beginnings, or face oils and cleansers from Skin Therapy.
