Space for local foodie talent to grow, and a market for authentic South Africa food

Makers Landing is the food hub for South African food and culture. It's where the brightest minds in food hone their skills and is home to a market where you can sample the freshest flavours in the country. Here's why locals and internationals love this space.
Makers Landing is a space for budding food entrepreneurs to innovate, learn and grow their businesses. The space was developed in partnership with the National Treasury’s Jobs Fund, with a R63-million investment aimed to create opportunities for these future stars of the foodie scene. Food experts share skills, nurture and coach young talent, helping to build these new businesses in the food industry. This kitchen incubator is at the core of Makers Landing.

The other part of the Makers Landing space is a vibey food market where you can get classic authentic and affordable South African food. Think shisanyama, samosas, koesisters and gatsbys: classic, simple South African food.
“Makers Landing will be an industrial, repurposed space that meets the vision of an inclusive, inspiring, authentic space of learning, growth and connection”, according to the V&A Waterfront.

A curated list of tenants also call the new space home, including Conscious Meat Merchants, who are loved for their ethically-reared and halaal meat. Also bakeries, a wine bar, a brewery, a coffee roastery, and loads more.
