Mellow and jam-packed with vegan + vegetarian options
Last updated: 25 January 2022
They say blondes have more fun, and that’s true of Blondie Restaurant on Kloof Street, which opened in December 2021. It’s become a favourite local hangout, with its friendly environment, Mediterranean-inspired food and affordable prices. Plus it has great vegan and vegetarian options. The vibe is so cool, you’ll want to stay all night.

Blondie is a great spot for a relaxed lunch or drinks on the veranda, with its yellow umbrellas. The menu includes amazing cocktails (we recommend the Paloma), as well as beer and wine. It fills up quickly at night, come early to secure your spot.

The menu is Mediterranean-inspired and jam-packed with vegan and vegetarian options. It’s simple and hearty food made on a fire stove, giving it that delicious charred flavour. Order a charred cauliflower head, short rib or Tomato Nirvana (all dishes are under R150).

Blondie has long wooden benches, perfect for big groups of friends or to share with strangers – it’s a great way to meet new friends. You’ll fall in love with the picture of Lady Diana hanging behind the diner-style bar and the wacky lights made from tumble dryers. The vibe is so cool at Blondie, you’ll want to stay all night.
