Catering for all music tastes is a tough one; you may enjoy a good bit of Justin Bieber and you bestie may prefer some SlipKnot (seems drastic, but it happens). On Saturday, 20 May 2017 A Touch of Madness in Observatory is hosting a new age silent disco where lovers of different types of music can enjoy their beats through a set of bluetooth headphones.
If you’re anything like me then dancing doesn’t exactly come naturally. In fact, nine times out of ten I am the one lingering awkwardly at the side of the dance floor. Luckily, at a silent disco, nobody knows what you’re listening to so no one will notice you dancing off beat; which I think we can all agree is a win-win for us all. At the Silent Disco on Saturday, there will be three DJs spinning (or playing) beats on three channels; rock, electronica and afro-disco.
A Touch of Madness is well known for stocking local craft beer and serving up delicious hearty fare. The atmosphere at this quaint gastro-pub is perfect for a silent disco; relaxed, warm and happy. Their menu features favourite from all over the world; they’ve tried to get at least one dish from each continent. The result is a culinary trip across the globe including delicious spring rolls, steak and ale pie and (of course) a generous bunny chow.
It’s not hard to amp yourself up for this event, it promises to be an enjoyable evening, but be sure to secure yourself a spot as soon as possible. The social scene in Cape Town is amazing (provided of course that you try new things), and we think that a silent disco is the perfect way to start exploring what the Mother City has to offer!
ENTRANCE TO THE 2017 SILENT DISCO AT A TOUCH OF MADNESS IN OBSERVATORY
Entrance to the event itself is free, but you will need to pay for the rental of the headphones. If you arrive before 10pm the headphones will cost you R60, and after 10pm, the price goes up to R100. Seeing that, it definitely makes sense to get there early, have a bite to eat and enjoy some craft beer!
If you have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact the organisers directly on +27 (0)21 447 4650 or visit their website - Atouchofmadness.co.za.
