South African Eco Film Festival

There is hope for Mother Nature, we just need to open our eyes and see it

The earth is at a crossroads, and being informed is more important than ever. The Labia Theatre is hosting the fourth Annual South African Eco Film Festival, which showcases the best films in the eco film industry from Thursday, 23 March, to Thursday, 30 March 2017. This years’ Festival theme is #ChangeIsHere where films will explore climate change, pollution, food security, urban gardening, the urgency of ‘local’, ocean preservation and much more.

With engaging and thought-provoking programme content this years’ Festival seeks to explore how these changes are affecting us and our world, and how our personal change can affect that world for the better. Look forward to a showcasing of challenging, intriguing and creative film content from SA and across the world highlighting issues that affects each and every one of us, whilst also introducing participants, filmmakers and audience members alike to sustainable living choices and lifestyle changes that can be made today. The Festival will be showcasing 21 films and 30 screenings over seven days.

Most of the films showcased at the festival are International Festival award winners, enjoying their South African premieres at Cape Town’s much loved Independent cinema. This year the event will host the premiere of local Director Jay Mac’s What Is Real, and International Director/Producer Mattia Tabucchi will be in attendance.
