The SPCA has the toughest job in the world. That fact is undisputable and they have to constantly worry about feeding their very needy charges. Rest assured that we have a way for you to help. On Sunday, 16 April 2017 you can buy an entry for the annual SPCA Woefie Wandel Walkathon happening at D’Aria Wine Estate in Durbanville.
Walkers will have to choose between a relaxed 2-km or a very slightly more challenging 4-km stroll. If you’ve got a puppy, this is the perfect way to tire them out for the evening! If you have an older dog, the 2-km might be a good way to get them to stretch their legs in the company of new canine friends. This is one of the SPCA’s main fundraisers so get those leads out and make sure you invite as many friends and their dogs as possible!
The SPCA, based in Grassy Park, had a very tough job. I know I’ve said it before, but it’s a fact that need emphasising. They work with animals from all over the Cape that have been either surrendered to them or taken by force by law enforcement. They depend heavily on donations and need all the help they can get! The R55p/p entrance fee will feed one little doggie for a whole month! That number only gets higher when you bring your furry friends along with you.
After the walk (which is happening at sunset in case you didn’t know), you’ll be treated to plenty of fun. There will be food trucks eagerly waiting to fill your hungry tummies, loads of prizes and competitions, goodie bags, live music and activities for the other little cuties (your kids).
