Use your student card to get discounts on meals, drinks and everything cool in Cape Town!
Last Updated: 5 January 2017
It’s tough being a student in Cape Town these days. With exams coming up, part-time jobs to keep the bills paid taking up most of your time and a pile of assignments waiting to be written every other week, there comes a point when every student feels the need to have a pleasant day out – without breaking the bank that is. One really cool benefit of being a student is that there are plenty of places in the city that offer discounts to anyone carrying a student card, so we’ve rounded up a list of the best places to go if you want to eat out, have fun or party till you can’t feel your feet.
FOOD
Tribakery
When exam season rolls up, we all appreciate a quick cuppa joe from the nearest caffeine supplier we can find. Instead of settling for tasteless coffee from the campus vending machine, head down to Tribakery and have a cappuccino for only R10p/p.
Note: Varsity Vibe only

This Kloof Street restaurant is known for their thin-based pizzas, delicious burgers and hearty fare. Choose from beef, chicken, vegetarian and ostrich patties served on a bun or in a bowl (if you prefer a healthier option). Students receive 10% off their meal any day (sit-down only).

Trenchtown
AFDA students are known for frequenting this island-themed restaurant so Trenchtown has decided to give some love back: every Wednesday, students from AFDA get to pick the specials for the day from a list provided on the Trenchtown Facebook page. This includes pizza, drinks, burgers and side dishes. If you need a chilled midweek break, bring some friends along and mingle with the creative kids taking over Obs.
