Challenge yourself to an exhilarating experience before winter hits Cape Town hard. From Friday 10 May to Sunday 12 May 2019, the Three Peaks Fun Challenge dares you to ascend three iconic Cape peaks in one weekend for the ultimate personal challenge.
GET A TASTE OF THE 3 PEAKS CHALLENGE
The three hikes take place on Lions Head, Devil’s Peak and Table Mountain. They vary in difficulty, but it’s not a race, so you can go at your own pace.
The group will start together and gather together at the top. If you cannot hike all the days in a row, you are welcome to climb on just one or two days. The after-hike meeting point, where every participant will receive a free craft beer from the sponsors, will be announced closer to the time.
LION’S HEAD
The Three Peaks Fun Challenge kicks off with the easiest of the three hikes: Lion’s Head. The hike starts in the early evening and continues into the night, so bring a headlamp.
Date: Friday 10 May 2019
Time: 5pm (start at 5:15pm sharp)
Meeting Place: Lion's Head parking lot
DEVIL’S PEAK
The next hike is Devil’s Peak, the second toughest of them all. This one starts in the morning.
Date: Saturday 11 May 2019
Time: 8:15am (start at 8:30am sharp)
Meeting Place: Devil's Peak parking in Tafelberg Road (± 3km after the cable car building)
TABLE MOUNTAIN
The last hike of the Three Peaks Fun Challenge is Table Mountain: the toughest to climb. Please note that the last cable car down is at 6pm, if you choose that way down.
Date: Sunday 12 May 2019
Time: 8:15am (for a 8:30am start)
Meeting Place: To the right of the cable car station on Tafelberg Road
ATTENDING THE THREE PEAKS FUN CHALLENGE
Registration and entry are free. You can register online. Registration closes on Sunday 5 May. Please note that to comply with Table Mountain regulations, attendance at the event is limited. This means that by registering, you accept that registration does not automatically guarantee your participation in the hike. You will be kept updated by email and weather updates will be provided.
