Escape to this picturesque boutique bed and breakfast for some well deserved relaxation and romance!
Andreas Luxury Accommodation is nestled in the Winelands region of Wellington, just off the N1 highway. The town is filled with cultural and culinary gems waiting to be discovered by visitors and passersby. Here at CapeTownMagaizne.com, we are dedicated to uncovering the hidden gems that few know about, the secrets that nobody has heard and the places that are yet to be discovered. This newly renovated guesthouse embodies that approach – a truly sensational treasure chest just waiting to be opened! Are you ready?
Wellington is the perfect distance from Cape Town to ensure you feel like you’re out of the city, but that you do not need to commit precious hours to a long journey. Road trips definitely have their place, but not really when you only have one night away; that’s time you could be spending with a glass of Andreas Shiraz in your hand.
The guest house, which was recently renovated, is located just off Bovlei Road, on Andreas Wine Farm. The owners made a concerted effort to maintain the structural integrity of the historic Cape Dutch manor house with the remodelling of the space. The house was originally erected in 1799, making it 218 years old in 2017, which made the preservation of this piece of history even more important. Andreas Luxury Accomodation has just been awarded four stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, which is a huge achievement!
That historical relevance can be felt throughout the house; the windows, the furnishings and even the colour palette serve as a pertinent reminder that this house has a long and interesting history. In the formal lounge, the owners have elected to have part of the original brick work on display, mixing in perfectly with the more modern furnishings.
The luxury accommodation at Andreas Wine Farm has four magnificent rooms. They can be booked with two single beds or a king-sized bed, and all the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms are all located upstairs, in the former grain store, and guests will see a marked difference in the styling and design of the upstairs area to that of the downstairs living spaces. The rooms downstairs are all styled in a simplistic, yet elegant aesthetic, while the upstairs suites have more modern amenities and accessories, but still a lot of charm. All the bedrooms have sky-lights in the roof, a stand-alone bath, shower, a TV discreetly hidden in a cabinet, and tea/coffee facilities. The subdued colour palette is both calming and welcoming, setting the tone for a stay at Andreas Luxury Accommodation to be the perfect R&R retreat.
Andreas Luxury Accommodation is perfect for a weekend away with your significant other. Leave the kids at home, and enjoy the various activities that Wellington has to offer. The town is home to many wonderful wine farms, and while most of them are child-friendly Andreas Luxury Accommodation is more suited for couples. The opportunity to sit on the stoep of a house built in 1799, while sipping on a delicious glass of Andreas Shiraz and watching the sun go down does not come around very often, so embrace!
Wellington is the perfect destination in both summer and winter. Yes, in summer the temperature can reach a high of 46 degrees, but all of the rooms at Andreas have their own air conditioning units and a big comfy bed to sleep through the hottest parts. In winter, guests can enjoy sitting by a roaring fire downstairs with a glass of wine in hand, or sleeping late under a feather down duvet and enjoying a lovely cup of tea or coffee – all the while staying nice and toasty.
Breakfast is a tasty affair at Andreas, with their menu boasting freshly baked pastries, eggs any-way-you-want-them, granola and yoghurt, coffee and loads of tea. What makes the granola and yoghurt even more special is that the honey it is served with is produced on the farm! That’s right, Andreas makes their own honey, and believe me when I say, it’s scrumptious!
As a special offer, if you quote CapeTownMagazine.com when making a booking, you'll receive a complimentary bottle of Andreas Shiraz upon arrival. This offer is available until Friday, 15 December 2017. Visit their website for more info!
