Sunday blues are finally a thing of the past thanks to The Village Idiot. The popular CBD-based hang out is bringing back the much loved, and always well attended weekly Winter Braai. Known for their smokehouse days, spit roasts and braai events over the past years, this popular inner city restaurant and bar promises to deliver heartwarming and belly pleasing Sunday meals, every week, for those not wanting the weekend fun to end just yet.
Between May and September 2017 you can look forward to being treated to a buffet style Sunday meal that will make you and your friends feel like part of The Village Idiot family. With Chef Wesley Robb tending to the spit braai or lamb roast outside, the delicious harvest table (laden with an assortment of vegetarian and vegan-friendly dishes) will have your mouth watering in anticipation of the satisfying spread you will soon indulge in. Because last year's Winter Braai’s was so successful, The Village Idiot team wants to offer the same interactive Sunday gourmet experience for local and visiting foodies.
Chef Wesley will happily let you sample some of the meat as it cooks and explain the cooking process to you if you’re wanting to attempt a mammoth braai of your own. Not only will that have you feeling at home but the generous drinking specials should be an added bonus to an already smashing Sunday afternoon out.
Doors open at 12pm and the braai will be available from 1pm where patrons will be able to order from the tasting table. Guests can consult The Village Idiot’s Facebook page for more specific details.
What’s more, The Village Idiot will be running their Happy Hour (half price on all local beverages) special between 3pm-5pm for patrons looking to quench both their appetite and thirst.
PRICING AND BOOKING INFORMATION FOR THE SUNDAY SESSIONS AT THE VILLAGE IDIOT
Entrance into The Village Idiot is absolutely free. The meal and drinks will be out of your own pocket for R100p/p - R150p/p depending on how much your weighed plates comes to.
