As we wind down for winter, there’s no excuse not to fully embrace the final evenings of summer. With that said, grab your takkies and head to Simons Restaurant for a pretty night time trail run through Groot and Klein Constantia.
The Merrell Night Series takes place on three different Wednesdays in April – the 6th, the 13th and the 20th. Each of the nights will offer running enthusiasts a choice between two routes – an 8km and a 5.5km race, all of which meander through the historical grounds. Although the distances stay the same, the routes will change for every event. The 8km commences at 6:30pm, while the 5.5km race starts at 6:40pm, and all finishers will receive a complimentary bottle of Groot Constantia wine valued at over R100 for their efforts.
Additionally, there’ll be numerous spot prizes on offer, along with post-race celebrations at the lovely Simons Restaurant. The affair will end with an ’As Crazy Colourful as You Can’ competition, to encourage participants to dress to impress in wacky, wild and wonderful outfits.
TICKETS FOR THE 2016 MERRELL AUTUMN NIGHT SERIES IN CONSTANTIA
The cost for the 8km race is R150p/p, while the 5.5km route is R130p/p, and entries can be made online via Entrytickets.net/nightseries1. You’ll receive a 10% discount if you enter for all three nights in one booking, and there’ll be headlamps available for purchase on the night, should you forget to bring one.
