On Friday, 14 July 2017, fans of local indie music will be happy to know that Lo-ghost (a local indie band) are launching their new album ‘There's Blood in my Body and It Sounds Like This’ at Manila Bar, on Longmarket Street in Cape Town’s CBD.
Lo-Ghost is made up of two very talented individuals, both dedicated to making truly unique and amazing music. Even Strauss and Shannon Devy explore themes of loss, love and the human condition. Their sound varies between deeply soulful, electronic beats and massive vocal performances. Their songwriting is honest and raw, and they always deliver meaningful and moving sets wherever they play. We cannot wait to hear what their new album has in store for us!
Felix Laband will be joining the dynamic duo at Manila Bar, and continues to affirm his reputation as one of the most innovative artists to ever come out of South Africa. He has played at most major festivals in the country and has teamed up with Kerry Chaloner to go international! They played in Italy, Germany and Poland, and have showed the world what talent SA boasts. He prefers minimalist soundscapes, and his style of music will pair beautifully with the meaningful melodic beats of Lo-Ghost.
Angel-Ho is another act that you’ll be able to enjoy on Friday, 14 July 2017. The recordings have strong emotive roots and use their social relevance to move people into a reaction. His music promotes thought, as well as enjoyment. The SA musician creates unique soundscapes that see modern societal themes carry throughout.
The final act on the line-up is K$, the internet sensation. K$ plays various instruments and has embraced music in all it’s forms since long before she was her internet success. Her music is melodic, funky and impossible not to enjoy. This old-soul knows how to get down so expect nothing short of excellence from K$.
