Jagger Lounge has a hot line-up of bands
At Cape Town’s newest live music venue you’ll see a pair of angel wings painted onto the outside wall (and, yes, you’re going to want to take a photo with it) and, often, a “SOLD OUT” sign for the bands that play from Tuesday to Saturday evening.
Jagger Lounge is so hot right now, they have by the likes of Jesse Clegg, Mandisi Dyantyis and The Kiffness booked all the way up until 7 December 2019.
OWNERS IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS
The welcoming wings and coffee hatch are what you see on the exterior; inside things step up a notch. Dim lighting, emerald green everything, velvet-textured lounge booths, golden lights and a bar boasting premium tequila, whiskey, gin and cocktails.
They have world-class sound gear, not surprising considering its owners are in the music business: well-known musician Ard Matthews, Andy Mac from event planning company Amp Events and Mike Vaughan, who also owns the musical instrument store Mars Music in Buitengracht Street.
FOR THE LOVE OF MUSIC
They were only looking for the best when it came to putting The Jagger Lounge together, says Vaughan, that they even created their very own blend of coffee with Tribe, which they serve with pasties throughout the day, and pizzas and pasta for dinner.
The Jagger Lounge, a passion project for Vaughan, plays music across all genres, from jazz acts to rock bands. The venue also plans to host comedy nights, poetry evenings and other live performance events in the future.
