This long weekend, there’s a family braai at a boutique wine farm; silent disco with gqom, amapiano and sing-alongs; thrift fundraiser and more. And our top pick? LARGEST-OF-ITS-KIND EXHIBITION
Long March to Freedom has 100 life-size bronze statues of heroes from both South Africa and abroad, spanning a period from 1652 to now. It tells an inspiring story of our fight for democracy. There’s sculptures of icons like Oliver and Adelaide Tambo, and little-known names like Louis van Mauritius who led the Cape Colony slave rebellion, at Long March to Freedom.
When: Open Tuesday to Sunday; 10am to 4.30pm

SILENT DISCO WITH AMAPIANO, GQOM, SING-ALONGS
This silent disco will have a genre for everyone. The red channel for melodic and progressive house, blue for amapiano and gqom, and green for sing-alongs. WeAreSilentVibe is hosting it at Camps Bay Beach. Bring snacks, sunscreen, and something warm for the evening.

ROSÉ ALL DAY IN SEA POINT
Rosé All Day is a stylish evening of rosé tastings and live music at Mojo Market. You can dress in shades of pink and peach to match the event’s vibe, and there’ll be a curated selection of rosé to taste. FAMILY BRAAI ON A WINE FARM
This isn’t your normal family braai. It’ll be at Klein Roosboom with award-winning wines and a harvest-style feast of artisanal breads, fire-grilled Chalmar beef, Karoo lamb, and coal-roasted catch of the day. There will also be fresh garden salads, wood-fired vegetables, and desserts.

FASHION THRIFT FUNDRAISER
Burn Out Bizarre is all about bringing together local creators and sustainable fashion. This market has everything from eco-friendly brands to thrifted gems, with two fashion shows showcasing local vendors. You can also swap your old festival clothing for a donation to the Peace Dragon cause. There’s also an after party from 8pm till late.

BARRY HILTON’S COMEDY SHOW
Known for his clean, family-friendly humour, Barry Hilton has been an icon in South African comedy for decades. He’s doing a show at Kalk Bay Theatre (it’s in the Brass Bell). Whether you're a long-time fan or new to his comedy, it's a great opportunity to experience his relatable jokes and strong stage presence.
