Goldfish are without a doubt one of the most exciting live bands in South Africa [& Ibiza & rest of the world] at the moment, and they've launched an excellent new Goldfish Album!
NEW GOLDFISH ALBUM GIVEAWAY !!
The new Goldfish Album 'Perceptions of Pacha' was launched at the Goldfish concert at Kirstenbosch.
Their unique blend of deep house grooves, live instruments and hypnotic vocal samples has made them the must-see band of the year.
The success story behind Cape Town’s electronica phenomenon Goldfish has been nothing short of extraordinary. Two surfer-jazz muso’s hooked up and formed a live electronic band.
They recorded an album themselves with a double bass, saxophone and a couple of synths. Their self-released ‘underground’ album, ‘Caught in the Loop’, propelled them into the stratosphere, with a cult-like following and numerous #1s in their home country.
They took the Goldfish incendiary “Reinvention of the DJ” live act across the globe, with sold-out shows from Ibiza to Tokyo, from LA to France. They played alongside electronica giants Fatboy Slim, Mr. Scruff, The Audio Bullies, Pete Tong and Stereo MC’s. They were voted best live act in South Africa, and suddenly, they found themselves on the brink of a roller coaster ride that will launch them into the international spotlight.
After extensive negotiations Goldfish’s second album has been signed to Pacha, the worlds’ biggest club and lifestyle brand, a massive achievement and further confirmation of the duo’s destiny to take the world by storm.
The new Goldfish album, ‘Perceptions of Pacha’, set to be released worldwide in March 2008, features 10 brand-new Goldfish tracks and includes a second disc featuring a Goldfish live performance video and remixes by top DJs from around the world.
Later, in March 2008, Goldfish will head for the US to launch their ‘Perceptions of Pacha’ album at the Miami winter music conference, alongside DJ superstars Frankie Knuckles, Axwell, Sander Kleinenberg, and David Morales. From there they will go to New York to perform at super clubs Pacha NYC, and then to the UK to perform at Pacha London.
With tours of the US, European performances with Paul Van Dyk and Pete Tong and a 3 month summer residency in Ibiza inked for 2008, the future looks golden for the Goldfish DJ Musicians Dave and Dom.
Certainly one of the most refreshing, innovative and globally tickling DJ Musician Producer combinations in the world. It is very seldom that you will find a combination that creates a performance like this. On album and live.
