One Republic Concerts South Africa

'Apologise' hitmakers are headed to Mzansi for a two-date concert series in June 2015!

Internationally renowned Grammy Award-nominated band OneRepublic returns to South Africa (they were here in 2009) to perform two concerts in major Mzansi cities to promote their third full-length album, Native (2013).

DATES FOR THE 2015 ONE REPUBLIC CONCERTS SOUTH AFRICA

  • JOHANNESBURG (The Dome): Friday, 19 June 2015 - Tickets
  • CAPE TOWN (GrandWest Grand Arena): Sunday, 21 June 2015 - Tickets

High school friends Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins formed OneRepublic back in 2002, and Columbia Records quickly signed the ensemble. Though, just two months before the scheduled release of what was meant to be their debut album, the band was dropped by the label.

But, like the old saying goes, one door closes and another opens, and pretty soon OneRepublic gained commercial fame as the number-one unsigned act on MySpace. After grabbing the attention of renowned producer Timbaland’s label, Mosley Music Group, the band became the first pop/rock group to join the hip-hop legend’s stable.

Their first single, ‘Apologise’, which was remixed by Timbaland, off their debut album Dreaming Out Loud put the band on the musical map. The song received a five-time platinum certification from the RIAA and reached the top of the charts in over 16 countries

Since then, the five-piece rock outfit – Ryan Tedder, Zach Filkins, Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher, Brent Kutzle – has released two more studio albums with a fourth in the pipeline.

In short, Mzansi fans are in for a real treat and are sure to be presented with a heady mix of OneRepublic’s biggest hits and even a sneak peek at what they may be working on for a future album.
