Hire a Range Rover for the Day

Ride high through Cape Town on the seat of luxury and power

Those who’ve never been behind the wheel of a Range Rover Sport ask, “Why would you want such a luxurious, beautiful car only to take it through the bush? Why should a 4x4 be so sophisticated and so refined?”

The thing is, it’s easy to dismiss the Range Rover if this is how you approach it. But the reality is, nothing gives you the sort of feeling a Range Rover gives you when you’re behind the wheel.

In Cape Town in particular, whether it’s a golf day, an important business meeting, maybe a wedding or a day off-road, there is no event at which and no setting where the Range Rover Sports isn’t perfect.

About the Range Rover Sport

At face value, the appeal of a Range Rover is quite complicated, but once you scratch beneath the surface, the luxury SUV’s allure is indefinitely simple.

When you sit in the driver’s seat of an RR Sport, left elbow on the arm rest, right elbow on the door sill, finger barely guiding the wheel - the rush of power you get is unrivalled. It’s akin to having the corner office, sitting at the best table at the best restaurant, entertaining on the leather couch in your private box at the cricket. There is nothing quite like it.

Rear passengers, on the other hand (as they’re deprived of the fun of driving), are treated to top-of-the-line entertainment.  Each back-seat rider gets a screen which can be independently operated by means of a touch screen remote control. Similarly, the boot opens and closes automatically, because obviously you couldn’t be bothered with such trivial manual labour.

And then there’s the engine. A 5.0 litre supercharged V8 lurks under that vast bonnet and makes a pleasantly low and athletic growl. It’s effortless, and cruising around town requires no more than a flex of your big toe; use your whole foot and the effect is marvellous. Suddenly your two tons of Rover is over there and you’re along for the ride. The acceleration is dramatic and promotes giggles from everyone on board.

 It is hugely fun.

Where to Rent a Range Rover Sport in Cape Town

And the best part? It can be yours for a day, a week or however long you like; the Range Rover Sport is available for hire from Status Luxury Vehicles (SLV) in Cape Town.

Plus, while we would recommend taking control of the wheel to feel the power of the Range Rover’s V8, if you’d rather enjoy yourself with a drink or two, SLV will be happy to provide a professional chauffeur to take over the driving duties.
