Ratanga Junction is now closed, but that doesn't mean the fun and partying is offer. There are plenty of other great function venues available for a year-end bash. This New Year’s Eve, one momentous party is planned at Ratanga Junction for the last time ever. After nearly 20 years “the Wildest Place in Africa” is closing its gates in March 2018 but before then one of our favourite amusement parks definitely deserves a decent send-off.

The Ratanga Junction New Year’s Eve jol on Sunday, 31 December is hosted by One FM 94.0 and partygoers can expect anthems from the late nineties and into the "noughties" – it promises to be the ultimate throwback with some of the hottest hits from the past two decades.

Ratanga’s “Walled City” is a captivating venue which has seen international acts such as UB40 and Atomic Kitten perform on its stage over the years.

Attendees and thrillseekers delight in the fact that the theme park will open its doors earlier that day, as well as on New Year’s Day (1 January 2018). However, the rides will not be operational during the party and no under 21s will be allowed entry to the event – this farewell is for the adults only.

On the night there will be plenty of fuel – in the form of a wide variety of food – to keep the gees up. Choose from chow options, including pizza, burgers and chips. The on-site restaurants will be open and ready to serve.

We’re happy to share that the organisers have decided that there will be no fireworks on the evening. This is in consideration to the neighbouring Intaka Island Reserve and surrounding residential area.
