Find out what you need to know about moving during lockdown

There has been some uncertainty around moving during lockdown, but you’re now free to start packing those boxes under alert level 3. And whether you need to move offices or homes, with a truck or just a bakkie-load, Cape Removals will make the process as seamless and cost-effective as possible.
MOVING IS ALLOWED UNDER LEVEL 3
The restrictions on moving to a new residence have been lifted since the start of lockdown level 3 on 1 June. You are now allowed to transport both household goods and office furniture, but you must get a permit from the court or a police station. If you have been issued a permit under the previous regulations, it will remain valid.
During the move, you’ll need to have the relevant documents on you at all times. These include the lease agreement, proof of purchase, or proof of change or new occupation of a business premise.
CAPE REMOVALS CAN MAKE YOUR MOVE GO SMOOTHLY
With lockdown regulations to consider, moving is a little more complicated than usual. Cape Removals can guide you through the entire process to make it go as smoothly as possible.
A moving consultant will guide you through an easy quoting and booking process. There are several online options to send in your inventory, and you’ll get a free quote on the same day. They will even help you obtain the necessary permits from the relevant authorities.
For your as well as their staff’s safety, Cape Removals strictly adheres to COVID-19 practises and policies. Cleaning and sanitising services are provided before or after your move to ensure peace of mind. The team is equipped with masks, soaps, and disinfectants, and is screened for symptoms daily.
THEY’LL ADAPT TO YOUR NEEDS
Cape Removals has dedicated teams that serve different suburbs in Cape Town and areas across the Western Cape, which keeps things both affordable and efficient. And because not all of Cape Town is accessible with medium to large trucks, they use different-sized vehicles depending on your area’s accessibility and the volume of the load.
PAY LESS WHEN YOU SHARE A TRUCK ON LONG DISTANCE MOVES
Weekly shared load removals services are provided to all cities across the country, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Nelspruit, Durban, Richards Bay, Port Elizabeth and East London.
If you have a smaller house, you won’t have to pay for the whole truck. You’ll only pay for the space you actually use on the larger removal trucks that are already en route to your destination. There are six dedicated shared load removal trucks travelling between each province weekly.
YOU WON’T HAVE TO LIFT A FINGER
Cape Removals takes the pain out of the process with their full moving, wrap and pack service. Just give them the floorplan and they’ll even place your furniture for you. Their staff are trained to move furniture in the safest possible way - their skills include hoisting, disassembling and reassembling, so even your large or awkwardly-shaped pieces will be taken care of.
PLUS: OFFICE REMOVALS
Moving to a new office or back to your empty one after lockdown? The office relocation service includes packaging and wrapping of all fragile items. Packaging supplies are delivered to you before your move, and your office furniture is dismantled and reassembled then placed exactly where you want it to go.
Note: Cape Removals also provides a storage service (temporary or long term) in Cape Town and International removals between the United Kingdom and South Africa
