These restaurant specials will get you more bang for your buck, there’s one for every day of the week. From Kloof Street to Hermanus, you’ll find everything from gravy burgers and cheesy nachos to hake in a secret batter, meals for sharing and vegetarian options. 

BEAT THE MONDAY BLUES WITH A BURGER SPECIAL

Beef, chicken or vegetarian burger, the choice is yours at De Oude Social Café. Try something different –  the hot Chilli Cheese Bomb Burger topped with tomato, lettuce, mayo, Sriracha sauce, bacon, cheese, jalapenos and onions. There’s also a Vegetarian Burger made with a veggie patty, topped with ranch dressing, salsa and lettuce. All burgers are served with fries and beer battered onion rings.

GET TO THIS TUESDAY PIZZA PARTY

Get two pizzas for the price of one at this newly opened, family-friendly restaurant in the heart of Newlands. It’s where the Golden Spur Steak Ranch used to be for the past 18 years, and is now a modern, welcoming space, with a children's play area, a stage for live entertainment, a fully stocked bar (of course), delicious food and great service. Locals also love Furley’s Bar & Grill for its other weekly specials.

HEAD TO BLOUBERG ON WEDNESDAYS

Enjoy a chicken schnitzel with cheese sauce and chips while taking in the view. Seat Restaurant is on the popular beachfront strip at Eden on the Bay and offers beautiful views of the beach to diners who sit outdoors. There’s also indoor seating, with patio heaters and the coolest “beach-bar-corner”. It has surfboards as decor, and you can stick your toes in the sand.

GET HALF-PRICE NACHOS EVERY THURSDAY

This is nacho average happy hour. At Café Caprice’s happy hour, selected cocktails are half-price and so are the yummy nachos. Enjoy this crispy, cheesy feast while sipping a Classic Margarita, Crafted Paloma, Tequila Paradise, or the adventurous Ginger-Berry Man cocktail made with Olmeca Altos Reposado, a touch of ginger, strawberry, and lime.

JOIN FISHY FRIDAYS

In the mood for seafood? Head to Simon’s Town for lunch or dinner at Bertha’s Restaurant. It’s set on the water’s edge, offering a beautiful view of the harbour. Choose between a deep-fried hake fillet, made with a secret batter, or deep-fried calamari strips. Both are served with tartar sauce and chips or a salad.

DRIVE OUT FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH IN HERMANUS

Order Eggs Benedict at this gem, and get a refreshing mimosa for free. The Benedict Breakfast includes a slice of toasted ciabatta, topped with two poached eggs and delicately prepared Hollandaise sauce. There are three Benedict variations: With maple bacon, wilted spinach and grilled cherry tomato; wild-mushroom truffle, burnt broccoli and blue cheese; or sirloin, mustard, tomato jam, rocket and smoked cheese.
