80's Rewind Festival South Africa |
We’re sure that by now almost everyone knows what #ThrowbackThursday means, but if you’re not quite clued up, let us school you. Every Thursday social media channels fill up with photos of friends, family and even colleagues from years gone by. Now though, the KIA Rewind: 80s Festival is taking the phenomenon to the next level by not merely posting images of bad hairdos and questionable outfits, but by bringing eight hitmakers from the decade of fashion crimes together for what is shaping up to be the biggest 80s music affair ever to hit Cape Town.
That’s right, on Thursday, 5 February 2015, the people responsible for epic tracks, like ‘Caribbean Queen’, ‘King of Wishful Thinking’, ‘Wouldn’t it Be Good’, ‘Moving on Up’ and ‘Everyone Have Fun Tonight’, are putting on a not-to-be-missed old-school performance at the GrandWest Grand Arena! Here’s the full line-up:
Initially launched in the UK in 2009, the concert was met with roaring success, and it wasn’t long until the blast from the past show embarked on a worldwide tour and stopped in the Mother City for a super successful one-day affair in 2012.
Needless to say, anyone who got groovy to the last 80s do will be pumped to know this gig is back in Cape Town with this handpicked selection of original artists.
