Crêpes are flipping delicious (pun intended), so we’re off to this new Buitenkant Street eatery to see if we’ve found a new favourite breakfast spot
Swan Cafe is a sweet new spot that serves, savoury galettes (similar to a crêpe) and in-house tea blends. Its location on the corner of Buitenkant and Barrack Streets makes it a new stopover in the up-and-coming East City
On the menu, you'll find items like Out of the Blue, a gluten-free buckwheat-based galette filled with blue cheese, red wine poached pears, prosciutto, Emmental and Gruberg cheese, candied walnuts and micro greens.
If you're in the mood to satisfy your sweet tooth, then opt for the Lucky Luc, a classic crêpe drizzled with orange sauce, fresh thyme and toasted flaked almonds. All crêpes are made from scratch daily at Swan Cafe and are served with a dash of cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
With tea blends named French Kiss, Paris Je T'aime and Teint de Pêche, Swan Cafe is going for Parisian charm.
This new Cape Town crêpe haven is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, and on Saturdays from 8am to 2pm.
